Liquor production increases in J&K State produces 45,01,198 cases of liquor during 2010-11 Nitesh Sangral JAMMU, Mar 26: Jammu and Kashmir has produced 45, 01,198 cases of liquor during 2010-11 thus earning revenue of Rs 184.44 crore. Official figures reveal that it is 2,45,158 cases more than what was produced in 2009-10, during which only 42,56,040 cases were produced and revenue collected was Rs 156.01 crore. As per the data, during 2008-09 about 35,32,673 cases were produced in the state and the revenue collected was Rs 133.07 crore. Officials said that sale of liquor has become one of the biggest revenue generating avenue for government, despite various religious and social stigmas attached to it. Interestingly, from January to this Month, the concerned department has received some complaints through facebook account, but many of them have not been processed. About three months ago Jammu and Kashmir Traffic Police department opened their official account on Facebook to interact with people and take action on their complaints easily. However, bus operators are unhappy with the guidelines and complexly ignored this order given by state government. The bus operators are extra Chagares to the students.
