This yr, GMCH fails to float tender for animals' diet

7/31/2017 Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report  Jammu, July 31: The administration of Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu is yet to float tenders for supplying animal diet. The tenders were supposed to be invited in March to April, but due to the rivalry between former and incumbent principal of the college, they could not be done so far. The animals used in medical colleges play a vital role in teaching and research as well as developing skills for diagnosis. For the research purpose, some rules and regulations have been formed to run the practices hassle free. These rules are mandatory for all the colleges. However, the management of GMC doesn't appear in a mood to follow the rules and regulations. GMC does it again: Interviews deferred, thanks to docs

Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report JAMMU, July 27: Interviews for the posts of Registrar/ Demonstrators in Pharmacology Department of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu have been postponed allegedly at the behest of some doctors. The interviews had been called to overcome the staff deficiency which had been pointed out by the Medical Council of India. "But it seems some doctors of the college don't want to fill up the vacancies," sources told Early Times. The interviews for the posts of the Registrar/ Demonstrators in various departments of the college are being conducted by the concerned administration but interviews of the Pharmacology department couldn't be conducted as "the Head of Department (HoD) is not interested in being part of the selection committee which is headed by the Principal." Admin appears unconcerned 7/25/2017 Nitesh Sangral   Early Times Report    Jammu, July 25: Four departments in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu are running without postgraduate courses since their establishment, forcing the aspirants to opt for other courses or move outside the state.  Due to non-availability of the PG courses in the departments of Psychiatry, Forensic Medicine, CD & TB, and Biochemistry, the interns who lack experience are forced to remain available during the night. Sources in the hospital said successive principals of the GMC have failed to initiate PG courses in the college for last many years, even as the college has enough infrastructure and faculty. The sleuths of Vigilance on Tuesday conducted raid at the clinic of Dr Ashutosh Gupta, the head of Radiotherapy department of GMC Jammu, and found him present there, in brazen violation of the government order which bars the HoDs from private practice. Did GMC&H canteen allotment papers really go missing?

7/8/2017 Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report  JAMMU, July 8: The issue of allotting two canteens of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu without inviting tenders by former Principal has taken a new twist with an alleged theft at a room of Boys Hostel. In the alleged theft, it is being claimed that the necessary documents pertaining to the allotment of the canteens have been stolen but if sources are to be believed there were no documents there and the drama was allegedly planned to save the culprits.  Pertinently, Early Times had published a story in which it had exposed that the canteens were allotted without following codal formalities and inviting tenders with an aim to benefit some blue-eyed doctors.
