Ineligible doc appointed by ignoring set criteria

JAMMU, July 9: Keeping aside guidelines of the Jammu Kashmir Public Service Commission as well as State government rules, a former Head of a department and administration of the Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu appointed an ineligible doctor for the post of Lecturer in Microbiology department.

Two doctors (Dr Fatima Sheikh and Dr Seema Kotwal) have written a complaint letter to Principal of GMC Jammu Dr Sunanda Raina to verify the fake appointment of a doctor in the department of Microbiology and it also mentioned that eligibility criteria was ignored only to appease the doctor by the then administration."
Moreover, the doctor also got extension of 3rd year without verifying whether the doctor was eligible or not which is raising fingers over the administration concerned. There are number of similarly cases which need to be exposed.
Fingers are being pointed at the appointment of an ineligible doctor as a Lecturer at GMC Jammu and some doctors have written a complaint to incumbent Principal. "Two doctors have written a complaint to Principal of GMC Jammu Dr Sunanda Raina to verify the fake appointment of a doctor in the department of Microbiology alleging that eligibility criteria was ignored," the copy of letter in the possession of Early Times stated.
It also states that the doctors are being appointed merely on the basis of influence and not on the basis of merit and eligibility. As per SRO 384 regarding eligibility criteria for the post of Lecturer , the candidate should have worked as Registrar/Tutor, Demonstrator/Tutor or a senior resident for a period of two years in a recognized teaching medical institution recognized by Medical Council of India or University of Kashmir or Jammu whereas the doctor was appointed as a Lecturer vide Govt Order No.110-HME of 2015 datd 8/4/2015 issued under the reference letter No.JMC/Es-1/GD/PF/1174 dated 06.04.2015.
"The in question doctor did not possess teaching experience as a Demonstrator/Tutor or as a senior resident for a period of two years as well doctor's experience as Assistant Professor of Microbiology from MM Medical College and Hospital Solan (HP) does not fall under the eligibility criteria for the selection of Post of Lecturer set by Government Jammu and Kashmir, "it further states.

When contacted Principal of GMC Jammu Dr Sunanda Raina said that she had asked the Administrative Officer to look into the matter.
