DPC of 71 docs ignored, 26 new docs appointed 5/28/2017 Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report JAMMU, May 28: Continuing with policy of adhoicism in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu, Health and Medical Education Department once again ignored Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) of 71 doctors and issued another order of appointment of 26 contractual adhoc faculty members in various specialties in gross violation of Medical Council of India (MCI)'s guidelines as MCI doesn't calculate Adhoc faculty.  Moreover, most of the colleges in the country including the GMC Srinagar got a substantial increase in PG seats, GMC Jammu had got a dozen seats, because of the fact that most of the Associate professors and professors of various disciplines of GMC Jammu were holding their posts on OPG basis and were not confirmed by DPC. Early Times Report  JAMMU, May 20: Welcome to Directorate Health Services Jammu, a place where doctors and the staff visit for officials work but a dog can often be seen moving and resting inside the office, causing greatinconvenience to visitors as there is no dare to stop them. Surprisingly, Director of Health Services Jammu Dr Gurjeet Singh showed least concern about the issue and cut the call when same matter was taken up with him. It seems Director don't have concern about health of the Staff and other visitors to the office. Official Sources within Health Department told Early Times that Licensing Norms of the department states that the tables of fees, costs and rates for various services should be displayed prominently in bold letters but in spite of compulsory, the most of the above said clinics and nursing homes even OPDs which are being run by some doctors and other businessmen are floating norms with impunity.
