MCL accused H&ME department for providing irrelevant information and status report of SSH Jammu. "I demanded status report of SSH of 2018 but they (H&ME) have provided status reports by enclosing annexure 'A' 'status on 2013', it proves, the officials were providing wrong information and misguiding the House", he said. Jammu Docs seek blanket ban on private practice but will Health Ministry dare

Nitesh Sangral JAMMU, Jan 7: Following attachment of Director SKIMS and suspension of other three senior doctors, the medical fraternity of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu have sought blanket ban on the all government doctors as many of faculty members are indulged in private practices despite 'restrictions/ban' imposed by the Health Ministry. "If they (the H&ME ministry) really want to save the primer and precious health institute, they ought to do so and at earliest," some faculty members observed. Pertinently, the Health and Medical Education Department has issued numbers of orders or circulars in which it was clearly mentioned that the private practice of the Head of departments (HODs) of Medical Colleges and associate hospitals has been banned but due to lackadaisical approach of concerned and poor enforcement by the department, the mal practice is flourishing under government's nose. Health Ministry deliberately delaying DPC, resentment brewing in docs fraternity

Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 5: Resentment is again brewing among doctors' fraternity of the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) and its associated hospitals Jammu on issue of delay in conducting Departmental Promotion Committee (DCP) for last almost two years, which is clear violation of the Medical Council of India's norms but who cares? Moreover, most of medical colleges across the country got a substantial increase in Post Graduate (PG) seats, GMC Jammu had got a dozen seats earlier, due to that most of the Associate Professors and Professors of various disciplines of GMC Jammu were holding their posts on Own Pay Grade (OPG) basis and were not confirmed by DPC. As per the norms of the MCI, they do not consider any own OPG promotion, only consider DPC confirmed faculty on any post for the sake of headcount. Official sources told Early Times that nearly 220 faculty members of the GMC Jammu, comes under the preview of the MCI and out of...

1/3/2018 Early Times Report Jammu, Jan 3: In order to save his face from embarrassment after receiving criticism from everyone, Health Minister took first time meeting with Head of Departments (HoDs) at Super Speciality Hospital Jammu on Tuesday. It needs to be mentioned here that the officials of the department were facing resentment by the doctors against the working of the management of GMC Jammu as well as Jammu and Kashmir Medical Supplies Cooperation which, according to them failed to deliver services timely. If sources are to be believed, since the new Minister took charge of Health Ministry, he didn't take a meeting with HoDs of the various departments and never tried to know about their problems which they were facing since last many years. "After receiving complaints and criticism regarding the poor working of the incumbent Ministry by the people and Politicians of the ruling parties, they took a meeting with the HoDs to discuss the issue of Kidney ...
