Mantri's visit makes team to defer inspection

CM cell's team on inspection ignored during HM's visit in GMC&H

JAMMU, Dec 6: Following the directions of the Chief Minister, a team of three members on Wednesday visited Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu for inspecting those issues which were pointed out by CM Mehbooba Mufti during her recent visit but team was not entertained reportedly as Minster for Health and Medical Education reached the hospital at same time.

After receiving so many complaints against the sinking ship (GMC&H), on November, 30 last month, the Chief Minister paid surprise visit in GMC&H Jammu and took stock of sanitation, facilities in the hospital and problems were being faced by the patients and their attendants and during visit she expressed displeasure over poor sanitation and other facilities. CM directed hospital management for improving the sanitation within some days as per reports.
Following the directions of the Chief Minister, a team was constituted to take stock of those works and issues which were pointed by the Chief Minister but unfortunately, the management didn't take seriously as today the three members team visited hospital, was not entertained allegedly and rushed to accompany Minister for Health and Medical Education who reached in the hospital at same time, officials, seeking anonymity told Early Times. Officials claimed that the members deferred the inception after checking few places as Minister's visit. Team members were left in midway reportedly by almost staff, were engaged to attend Minister. "The team had come here to inspections of those works which were pointed out but tried to hide negligence, the team was not entertained by the hospital admin resulting the team had to defer the inspection reportedly, "official alleged.
However, a official of the GMC, seeking anonymity, claimed that the team was attend by the authority and the team returned back after completing inspection by visiting checking ICCU, and others. On being asked there is rumor that the team was left midway as Minister reached hospital, he replied maximum staff were accompanying Minister as he is their minister.
Contesting the claims made by official, sources informed that they didn't take directions seriously so they runaway and following Minister so negligence would be kept under carpet.

Doctors' "negligence" claims 2 lives
