'Ball Busters Cricket' busts into shame'

Players accuse organizers of mismanagement, deceit
11/26/2017
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Nov 26: More skeletons are likely to tumble out of the cupboard as organizers of Ball Busters Cup -Cricket tournament-canceled the match between Jammu Cricket Club and Laxmi Cricket Club on Friday without any intimation to the players.
Moreover, players and others were forced to sit for hours in the ground without the basic facilities but surprisingly, the organizers didn't pick calls despite repeated attempts by the Ranji players on Friday.

A group of players, seeking anonymity, told Early Times that the match between JCC and LCC was supposed to be held at 12 PM last Friday at Parade Ground Jammu as the date fixed by the Organizers but the match couldn't be held due to lackadaisical approach and non-serious attitude of the organizers-who are allegedly minting money by organizing the Cricket Tournament in the city.
"We (players of both teams) had to wait for hours on the same day without basic facilities as the organizers were absent from the venue," they divulged, adding that players especially seniors tried a lot to establish contact with organizers but all efforts went in vain. "Despite giving entry fees to the organizers, the match could not be held exposing the objective of the organizers behind the Tournament. It seems, the Cricket Tournament is being held only to collect money by the organizers affiliated with a ruling party.
Few days back, Captain Sham Singh had alleged that the tournament was merely a money making tactics and no colored uniforms were given despite charging Rs. 10,000, while the uniforms were sponsored by a government department bowing to the influence of a leader of the ruling party, who is one of the organizers.
