Early Times Report
Jammu, May 13: The committee set up to probe into the allegations leveled by principal GMC&H Jammu, Dr Sunanda Raina, against her predecessor Dr Zahid Hussan Gillani has given a clean chit to Dr Zahid. The panel has also sought revoking of Dr Zahid's suspension with immediate effect, raising questions over the motive of Dr Sunanda.

The Health and Medical Education Department on Friday issued an order and asked to Dr Zahid to resume as GMC's Head of Pharmacology Department and that the suspension period shall be treated as on duty.
On March 15, a high voltage drama was witnessed in the chamber of Dr Sunanda where Dr Zahid had occupied the principal's chair for several hours till intervention of the higher ups and the district administration.
Dr Sunanda had filed a complaint with the Health Department against Dr Zahid and accused him of "gross indiscipline, misconduct and disobedience."
In her letter, Dr Sunanda alleged that Dr Zahid was seated in the principal's chamber along with two media persons and the furniture in the chamber had been ransacked and a revolver lay on Dr Zahid's table.
An enquiry was ordered into Dr Zahid's alleged misconduct and he was put under suspension. On March 17, the probe committee, headed by Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman, Director Health Services Kashmir, and comprising of Dr Zahoor Ahmad, Director Finance H&ME, and Naseer Ahmad, Additional Secretary H&ME as members, had been constituted to conduct an enquiry into the whole episode and submit its report within 10 days.
"The enquiry report was submitted after a lapse of one month on April 17. Even it has taken another month to revoke the suspension of Dr Zahid despite finding nothing against him," official sources said.

"Was it a conspiracy against Dr Zahid?" sources asked.
