Minister's blue eyed now sabotaging inquiry into patient's death

JAMMU, Feb 19: A blue eyed doctor- who holds close allegiance to a Cabinet Minister has reportedly been appointed over a nonexistent post of liaison officer in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu few months back. Now, this doctor is reprtedly pressuring the administration and the enquiry committee to delay report of a patient's death who was operated by him in violation of Standard Operating Procedure (SOP).


Pertinently, the blue eyed was operating a patient, without supervision of any senior faculty member-which is mandatory as per SOPs- and due to his alleged negligence the patients had died. After that an enquiry committee was constituted to investigate the case and enquiry report was supposed to be submitted within a week, but so far the committee has failed to submit its report despite more than two weeks, allegedly due to the interference of the accused blue-eyed.

The blue eyed doctor has been appointed as liaison officer in GMC&H Jammu against nonexistent post by the higher ups on the recommendation of a Minister. Blue eyed doctor also interferes in the hospital administration.

Sources said that on the same day, when the patient had died an emergency meeting of faculty members was also called to review the case and during the meeting several faculty members had raised concern over his appointment in GMC&H against nonexistent post. The doctors had also objected over the clinical working by the doctor and also conducting of surgeries, for which he was not entitled.

"The blue eyed doctor has been appointed as liaison officer in GMC&H Jammu against nonexistent post by the higher ups of Health and Medical Education department on the recommendation of a ruling Minister, which is completely violation of norms and regulations, "sources informed, adding the doctor had been successful to get posting in Orthopedic department.

Sources further stated that blue eyed doctor was also interfering in the hospital administration wearing his allegiance to the political bosses, which was directly affecting the working the administration of the hospital, "Sources also alleged.
