Traffic police get 15 days to bus operators wear uniforms

JAMMU, Jan 04: A Large and significant Government Medical College (GMC) hospital of the Jammu Province is always headlines in newspapers due to different reasons. This time the almost Closed Circuit Televisions (CCTV) cameras are out of order in the premises of hospital last from some months.

It is pertinent to mention here that the State Government Health Department claimed, they provide the complete facility to GMC hospital Jammu time to time. 16 CCTV cameras installed in the GMC Hospital but last some months it is dysfunctional.

Official source said that as per reports of GMC, there sixteen CCTV cameras are installed in various places (emergency block, OPD, Emergency and OPD entrance etc) in GMC but for the last some time they remain useless. He also said that the concerned authority have sent many time reminder to higher authority regarding non-functional of these CCTV cameras.

He further said that the GMC authority also have sent a proposal of health department to install more cameras in the GMC hospital. “However, the higher authority has nothing done to replace or repairing of 16 CCTV cameras in the Hospital after repeated reminders. The authority needs to immediately repair these cameras and install more cameras in the premises,” he added.

Source said that many time happened adverse things happened in GMC premises and these CCTV cameras could not be help of police department and hospital administration to trace the miscreants. Last year, allegedly theft of important instruments from the Store Room of GMC, but still the accused out of police net. He further said the hospital administrator has failed to provide the footage.

Interestingly, GMC authorities are playing down the issue and indulging in blame game. When contacted senior official, he said this is not my prerogative and I don't know anything about Non functional of CCTV cameras."

Chopra murder case Ex-MLC Tarlochan Singh Wazir arrested by police

Nitesh Sangral JAMMU, June 9: In a major step to solve the brutal murder mystery of Chopra family, Special Investigation Team (SIT) today arrested Ex-MLC Trilochan Singh Wazir following the statement of Surinder Singh alias Kala, a transporter before the Judicial Magistrate. Singh has been arrested by the police under section 164-A of CrPC and has been placed under arrest.
