‘No record of land encroachment by KAS, IAS officers’’

JAMMU, Dec 13: Jammu And Kashmir State Government has no mechanism to track the land under illegally occupation of Bureaucrats, IAS and KAS officers, who involved in this practice. While, the state government also said that names of the politicians, bureaucrats and senior police officers involved in encroaching state land will be announced shortly.

Report said that the 14 lakh kanals of state land are under illegal occupation by the politicians, bureaucrats, IAS and KAS officials. In Anantnag 33710 kanals of state land has been encroached upon Budgam 46188 kanals, Bandipora 46920 kanals, Kupwara, 52325 kanals, Pulwama, 41011 kanals, Kulgam, 14533 kanals, Ganderbal, 14533 kanals, Baramulla, 90244 kanals, Srinagar, 42977 kanals, Shopian, 42977 kanals, Rajouri, 392155 kanals, Ramban, 109628 kanals , Reasi, 155126 kanals, Kishtwar, 72521 kanals, Samba, 97113 kanals, Udhampur, 32971 kanals, Doda, 28537 kanals, Pooch, 118237 kanals, Jammu 27016 kanals and Kathua 24299 kanals.

PDP MLA Choudhary Zulfikar Ali told to TNI, it is serious allegations against state government for protecting the politicians, bureaucrats and senior police officers involved in encroaching state land. While the legislators of various parties stressed upon the state government to reveal the names of the senior government officials involved in encroachment of state land.

“Despite various court orders in different times to take stern action against the officials involved in the occupied government land, the government till date has failed to take action against any officer as so far, “MLA said.

Source said that the Revenue Department have no record available with the revenue department of the politicians, bureaucrats and other officers as per their designation, who had encroached upon state land.

“The many land grabbers related with the politicians taking complete benefits of the relations surfaced recently in Jammu. The grabber’s encroachments of government land in the various areas in Jammu as well Kashmir, “he added.

However Minister for Revenue Raman Bhalla was not available for the comment as he did not responded to repeated calls to get view of government on the issue.

It’s not only the government land but the encroachment the Nullahs have also come to notice of the agencies, and they have been mostly encroached by the high and mighty. There are so many examples of state government assured to have taken strict action against land grabbers, who illegal grabbed the government land but the bureaucrats who are in the dock for sleeping over the encroachments are still holding plum posts.
