Nov. 27: The rapid growth of the internet and computer technology over
the past few years has led to the growth in new forms of crime-dubbed cyber
crime. But the state police department is facing some difficulties to trackers
due to professionals and software.
After terrorist attacks in Delhi and they have been linked to emails sent from cybercafés from Kishtwar District. The state police department announced the Police officials are fully geared up to face the challenges and the force has successfully dealt with various situations especially cyber crime.
Source said that the state police have three cyber police stations would be
made functional in the State. Two of the cyber police stations were to be setup in Srinagar and another in
Jammu. In Jammu city, it was to come up at Gandhi Nagar, cyber police stations.
He further said that, not a single cyber police station has made operational so far. There is shortage of experts, who have technological know-how of the computers and tackle such types of crimes. He also said there was need for better training skills of police personnel to face new challenges and the courses should be oriented to tackle the cyber crimes and the latest techniques adopted by criminals.
"In these cyber police station are need more Hi-tech computers and
software's to check different cyber crimes. The department has no fully trained
manpower, Software and hardware and there are few computers in three cyber
crime stations.
Officials said that the cyber crime station at Gandhi Nagar is fully functioning
last some months. He admitted that the operators have not fully trained at yet.
The process of creating cyber police stations will be time consuming. "It
will take some police have adequate trained men to take charge of cyber police
stations.
Superintendent of Police (SP) operations, Pawan Parihar could not be contacted
for comments.
