JAMMU, Oct 06: The Railway Authority and Jammu Kashmir Police has removed 25 t0 30 stalls (radian) at Railway Station, with warning to remaining illegal shops to remove their stalls immediately or face action.

It is pertinent to mention here that the main reason behind this condition of the railway is the infighting between politicians, who for their pity interests, never raise such issues before the authorities concerned.

Official’s source said the last some months the people are complaints against these vendors and the authority of railway and concerned police given many times warning to them. But they have not fallowed the warning. Then Railway Authority, Government Railway Police and Jammu Police held a meeting on this issue.

“The panel has decided these stalls removed from the railway premises. After meeting the authority has given notice to all vendors, who established their stalls and sold the products. These vendors have not taken in serious way,” he added.

He said after 10 days Railway Authority, Government Railway Police and Jammu Police launched a combine drive against these vendors, and they have removed all the stalls from the railway bus stand.

He further said that with the help of some politicians and bureaucrats the few shopkeepers and vendors have encroached free space of railway station. This has created lot of problems for the tourist. Due to this occupied the tourist and locals feel not safety. The public has also complaint against them.

A tourist Vikram Singh said that the entire area near the taxi stand is replete with heaps of garbage. It becomes difficult for passengers to walk through as foul smell emanating around makes it difficult stand here. Many vendors are major contributors of garbage.

They say the railway authorities are to be blamed for doing a lip service on the issue and are not doing enough to maintain cleanliness on station premises.

When contacted Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Railway, Shiv Kumar said that we have joint drive had launched by Jammu Kashmir Police and Government Railway Police (GRP). We have removed the all vendors in the premises of railway station. Total 20 to 25 vendors removed from the Bus stand.

He further said that we have given clear warning to these vendors if they stand their stalls in the premises of railway station again the concerned authority will take illegal steps against them.

Nitesh Sangral JAMMU, June 27: In yet another case of how our society is heading towards moral ruin, a recent case of sexual exploitation of B.ed girl has again exposed the vulnerability of our sisters and daughters. Though the accused have been arrested by the police while he was fleeing towards Kashmir, but it raises lot of question about the moral degradation of our society, which has long tradition of ‘Guru-Shiysha’ concept. Sources said that it could be a tip of the ice berg as there are number of people who are exploiting the innocent girls. However the concern is how to stop this menace which is like a curse on our society. A college student said that at times girls face mental harassment in shape of comments, sudden touch or lewd gestures from the teachers, but it is mostly ignored. Few days back, a teacher of a private college was arrested for allegedly making an obscene MMS of a student in mountainous Kishtwar district. 'The teacher identified as Tariq Qayoo...
