JKHRC wakes from slumber, issues notice in Rajouri rape case

JAMMU, July 30: In the case of gang rape with a 10th class student in Kalakote district Rajouri, it’s turning a new mode, the Jammu and Kashmir Human Right Commission (JKHRC) has issued notice to police and district administration to submit its report before August 20.

It is pertinent to mentioned here that, the police had arrested four persons, Iftikhar Ahmed, Aurangzeb, Mohammad Zafar and his son, Waseem, whose names had figured in the crime.
Yesterday a minor girl, who was allegedly involvement in the suicide of a Class 10th girl student raped by three teachers in Rajouri, had also committed suicide in Khandriya village of Kalakote tehsil in Rajouri district in yesterday. The dead has been identified as Shabnam.

Police source said that the family members of the Class X girl had alleged Shabnam’s involvement in the allegedly kidnapped and gang-raped by four persons in Khargala village of Kalakote on July 21.

He further said that the concerned police have registered a case against her. The police were searched to shabnam but unfortunate she also allegedly consumed poison to end their life.
Taking to TNI JKHRC member Amolak Singh said that, when they came to know about the matter, the commission has take in serious manner. After few days the commission has issued the notice to District Magistrate, DGP Police, SSP and SP Rajouri to submit their report related this case on before August 20. “If concern police have arrest the accused, why police released them”.

When Contacted, Superintendent of Police Mudassar latfi said that the concerned police have arrested the accused, who involved in the case. A girl namely Shabnam alleged her involvement in this crime. “But yesterday she ended their life before asking anything about the case”, Latiffi said.

He further said that the inquiry is running, the police official will appear the four accused in the Court as soon as possible.

Interestingly, one week have passed but at present the concern police have not got any clue related in the case.
