Vehicles registered outside J&K, plying without any restriction on roads | |

JAMMU, June 19: Despite directions of the government, Transport Department has failed to check the plying of vehicles registered outside the state. Despite announcements about starting major drive against them, the Transport Department is silent over the issue, which could be a major security threat to the state. It is pertinent to mentioned here that in the Transport department norms clear that outsider vehicles are not stayed more than one year. “If the outsider number vehicles stay, its owner should be re-registration number at that state whereas the vehicles stay”. As per the norm, when a vehicle shifts to another state that vehicle owner have to follow some procedure for a hassle free driving in the new state. As per rules, if outsider number vehicle stay in the new place for more than one year they have to apply for change of address and re-registration. To apply for the change of address you have to get a NOC (No Objection Certificate) from the home state RTO where the vehicle is registered. Officials’ source said that the thousand number of outsider registration number vehicles stayed in the state for last few years. Those vehicles owners have not re-registration of their vehicles. They stay and running vehicles in the state without any anxious of transport department. “Due to the lack of coordination of state transport department officials are not having actual data, how many vehicles stay in the Jammu and Kashmir state. How many vehicles without state number? Some local residential also purchased vehicles outsider registration number and they running their vehicles on the road without taking re-registration certificate”, he disclosed. He further said that the department have not plan to checking of these vehicles and take legal step against these vehicles owner. When the contacted Transport Commissioner Mehraj Ahmed Kakroo said that when the department starts routine checking when any vehicles catch the department takes suitable step against them. The department having few case report but maximum outsider went to his state back in the time period. Which state people have get the vehicles of outsider number they also get the re-registration their vehicles as per norms of transport department. |

It is penitent to mentioned, Minister for Health Bali Bhagat assured Upper House that the Principal Secretary H&ME Department handed over the proposal for increase of 133 PG seats in GMC, Srinagar and 107 PG seats in GMC, Jammu, as one time increase in Medical Colleges of State for the year 2018-19. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, through its communication dated March 6, 2018, has conveyed its approval for admitting 15 students in GMC Jammu and 29 for Srinagar for 2018-19.
