Despite SC ruling, Traffic police fails to remain tainted glasses

JAMMU, June 09: Despite the directions from the Jammu and Kashmir high court to ban use of tinted glass and black films on vehicles, around a week the drive have gone, now thousands of vehicles are still plying on the roads with tinted glasses. The police have completely failed to the implement the ban on the vehicles. The derive conducted by police just a eye wash for the people of the state.

It pertinent to mentioned here that, after court direction the state police was started a drive to removed the tint on the vehicles. During drive the removed the tints on the many vehicles, but the drive have gone a week.

Officials source said that the department also admitted that things a at least 10 lakh vehicles across the state were running with black films and tinted glasses. 5 to 10 minutes to remove the films from the vehicle and the traffic wing was already facing shortage of manpower due to which, it was not possible to carry on the drive.

There have been instances where tinted glasses have been misused by individuals. Youths make wrong use of such vehicles and indulge in criminal acts. The authorities concerned cannot get the desired results without the cooperation of the people,
He further said that when the police officials intensified its drive against the violation, after few days the vehicles owner go to film shop and get the tinted films from their vehicles. How can possible to permanent tint free vehicles in the state. When the ban on tint sell not imposed the black films problem will continue going on.

Transport Commissioner, Jammu Mehraj Ahmed kakroo said that, they are not imposed ban on sell tint films in the market, but transport and traffic department continue drive is going on to removed films on the vehicles.

Inspector General of Police Traffic, (IGP) Muneer Ahmad Khan said that, traffic police will not tolerate indiscipline on roads, they had been doing their job diligently but the number of vehicles with tinted glasses was huge in the city.
