Third recovery of ammunition in two months Mystery of shells, how they found their way to Kalu Chak

Nitesh Sangral
Jammu, June 11: The routine recovery of the ammunition from the Kalu Chak area in recent has become a mystery puzzling for the administration.

Sources said that yesterday’s recovery of the rusted mortars was third such recovery in past two months, pushing question before the police, how the ammunition has been dumped in the area, which is quite remote.
It is pertinent to mention here that more than two months ago a dead shell was recovered from this Nallah. Second time, on June, 5 some pieces of shells were recovered and yesterday huge number of explosive was recovered the Nallah.

“We have started a investigation in the entire issue and every aspect is being looked into. It has not to be taken lightly”, said a senior officer.

He said that there has been direction from the higher ups to conduct a proper probe in the entire issue as recovery of such a huge number of dead shells is matter of concern.
“This recovery means that more such material would be dumped there and its source needs to be found, so that we are able to pinpoint the actual quantity spread there”, sources said.

It is pertinent to mention here that a tractor driver Parveen Singh was going in the Nallah for taking the raw materials when he saw tank shells in the nallah on Thursday evening. He told to local people who forwarded the information to the police. Friday morning, the police reached the spot where they found 22 tank shells out of which 12 were alive.

He disclosed that in evening police searching the area keenly police also recovered two smoke shells which were fitted with a launcher. On 5 June some shells were found but police did not search at that time.
“The place where the shells have been recovered is an Army area while at the same place too close to “Kabadioan” shops. The police feared that these shells would be sold to Kabadioan”, he added.

While police said the shells of the investigation were handed over to the army and will be disabled. The concerned Police registered a case in this regard for further investigations.
When contacted SP South, Rajeshwar Singh said that the investigation is still going on but they think that the arms and ambitions have been brought up by a kabadee who took all this from the army and trashed it there in the nallah.

This queue of incidents has proved that the department is so careless to investigate thorough on the cases, as the case which took place before a month ago is unsolved by them till now.

Kishtwar MMS scam, again raises issue, how secure is our girls

Nitesh Sangral JAMMU, June 27: In yet another case of how our society is heading towards moral ruin, a recent case of sexual exploitation of B.ed girl has again exposed the vulnerability of our sisters and daughters. Though the accused have been arrested by the police while he was fleeing towards Kashmir, but it raises lot of question about the moral degradation of our society, which has long tradition of ‘Guru-Shiysha’ concept. Sources said that it could be a tip of the ice berg as there are number of people who are exploiting the innocent girls. However the concern is how to stop this menace which is like a curse on our society. A college student said that at times girls face mental harassment in shape of comments, sudden touch or lewd gestures from the teachers, but it is mostly ignored. Few days back, a teacher of a private college was arrested for allegedly making an obscene MMS of a student in mountainous Kishtwar district. 'The teacher identified as Tariq Qayoo...
