JAMMU, May 21: Director School Education (DSE), Jammu Gulzar Qureshi has recently suspended 29 staff members of different educational institutes in Poonch who were found absent from duty. Suspended include 16 teachers, who were not present in the school at the time of inspection by the team of the officials led by Qureshi, but so far no new teachers have been deployed, which has made education to suffer. It is pertinent to mention to here that the after receiving number of complaints, officials from the education department has started a pattern of surprise checks in different parts of the Jammu region. Source said that now these posts are vacant, and so far none of the teachers have been deployed there making education to suffer. The department has claimed that they are providing free uniforms and books to the students’ upto middle school, but what about the basic facilities of desk besides other required things. They further said that some of the buildings of school are in worst condition and our children studying under life thread. Shambu Nath resident of Poonch, he said we are welcome that step taken by the education department. The education department should have deployed teachers instead of them. However, DSE, Jammu Gulzar Qureshi refused to comment on said issue and straightly cut the phone. |
Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 6: The State Health Ministry' claims regarding increase in PG seats in broad specialties have fallen flat as Medical Council of India has granted only 13 more PG seats to the Government Medical College Jammu, while GMC Srinagar has got 30, thanks for not conducting Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) of faculty members. It is penitent to mentioned, Minister for Health Bali Bhagat assured Upper House that the Principal Secretary H&ME Department handed over the proposal for increase of 133 PG seats in GMC, Srinagar and 107 PG seats in GMC, Jammu, as one time increase in Medical Colleges of State for the year 2018-19. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, through its communication dated March 6, 2018, has conveyed its approval for admitting 15 students in GMC Jammu and 29 for Srinagar for 2018-19.
