Two brothers seriously injured, fired upon by miscreants at Samba

JAMMU, May 12: The two brothers got serious injuries when they were attacked and fired up by a group of armed men in a village of Samba district.

According to sources the three armed men led by Patwari, Jasbir Singh of Vijaypur had a month long rivalry with Ravi Kumar son of Krishan Chand, a STD owner, in village Chak Mange Rakwal of district Samba and wounded him critically.

The attackers, police said, fired with their licensed weapon on Ravi and left his left leg wounded, while the same leg was stabbed by using sharp edged weapon.

Source further said that on hearing the cries his younger brother Rajinder Kumar also rushed out towards his brother for his help, where he too was attacked with sharp edged weapons and wounded.

He said the left leg of 18-year-old Rajinder Kumar suffered deep wound. After taking revenge of anonymous calls which had created fear physic among the family members of Patwari, the accused fled in their vehicle.

He disclosed that the vehicle was chased by the villagers, who had started rushing towards the spot, and even stoned the car in which the vehicle got damaged. However, the accused managed to flee from the spot.

Later, police rushed to the spot after getting information and both of them shifted local hospital for treatment from where they were referred to the Government Medical College (GMC) Hospital for their treatment properly.

Doctors said the condition of both the brothers is out of danger and it seems that the attack was not carried on not to kill but to create fear among them.

Official source said that the Patwari namely Jasbir Singh had lodged a written complaint with the Vijaypur police a month back against Ravi alleging that he was making anonymous calls at his residence and using abusive language, and threaten them.

VijayPur also arrested and introgation from him after some day’s police released and warned him not to do such type of activities again.

When contacted Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba, Ishar Khan said that the concerned police registered case and investigation is going, he stated the police officials know about the culprits and arrested within one and two days.
