Nitesh Sangral

JAMMU, Feb 22: The recent announcement of state government to impose Public Safety Act (PSA) against the land grabbers was welcomed by the people, but it seems that its implementation is still slow.

Despite clear evidence against many politicians and police officials in the land grabbing cases, none of them have been booked so for under the PSA, putting question mark over the intentions of the government.

It is pertinent to mention here that the many land grabbers relation with the politicians and that people taking complete benefits of the relations surfaced recently in Jammu. The grabber’s encroachments of government land in the various areas in Jammu, in which Ratnu Chak, Bathindi, Sunjwan, Narwal, Sanik colony, Purmandal Morh, Shakti Nagar, Trikutta Nagar, and besides other areas is well known fact.

It’s not only the government land but the encroachment the Nullahs have also come to notice of the agencies, and they have been mostly encroached by the high and mighty. . The presently condition is so worse in many areas that many Nullahs which were more than 50 feet in width now having 10 feet in many locations.

There are so many examples of state government assured to we are taken to strict action against land grabbers, who illegal grabbed the Nallahs as well as government land in the last year, when was flash flood entered the Gangyal areas.

The concerned authorities said that released grabbed Nallahs, and government land to the land mafia. The too many time have been gone but state government as well as concerned authorities had not taken any step to remove the illegal encroachment of the government lands till date.

The department also sent notice to 28 people who allegedly built up their homes in encroached the Nullah in the Gangyal area and then Deputy Commissioner M K Dwivedi, also said we are taking step to vacate the land as the encroachment and land grabbers would not be spared at any cost.
According to TNI survey the common masses imposed the statement and said that the state government many time given only assured and statement assurance to common masses bur reality they do not take any step against these grabbers.
There are many politician, bureaucrats and police officers involved in grabbing prime lands in Jammu city.
