Nitesh Sangral

JAMMU Feb 24:Despite claims of making hospitals patient friendly, poor people are still facing the apathetic attitude of the doctors.
This came to highlighted today when an elderly man Mohammad Iqbal visited Government Medical College (GMC) for treatment, but was denied check up by the doctors on duty. Even the police did not register his complaint and told him to wait outside the police post.

“I came to office at 2 pm for check up but the doctors on duty kept me waiting there despite my repeated pleas that they should conduct my check up”, Iqbal said. He alleged that though he was feeling pain all over his body, doctors just checked his blood pressure and asked him to stay outside the OPD. “Even when I approached Chief Medical Officer (CMO) with the complaint, he just asked me to move out from office. This is how the patients are dealt by the hospital”, he alleged.

Later the Iqbal come to Gandhi Nagar hospital for the treatment and has been admitted there for the treatment. Interestingly, the patient spend 4 hour for their treatment and also gone to police station registered his case against these selfish doctors. It really to careless these doctors who were not checked the patient properly.
When the contacted superintendent of GMC Ramesh Gupta said that he will check the entire matter and suitable action would be taken.
