JAMMU, Apr 7: While government has announced establishment of 22 new colleges in Jammu and Kashmir, but the condition of already running institutions in quite deplorable. Most of the existing colleges are lacking even the basic infrastructure and students are facing lot of problems. It is pertinent to mention here that the state government has decided to established new degrees colleges in both of province but which existing colleges they are not taking any step for improved the condition of degree colleges and provide everything for required of these degrees. Interestingly, the posts of lectures and staff members are also vacant of some degrees colleges; the government not passed notice to full fill the vacant posts. According to a source GCET College, the government has sanctioned 71 posts for GCET College in 1996 and only 40 members joined their duty at that time. He said that due to lack of incentives and other facilities there, only 28 faculty members are working now and twelve had left the jobs and joined other organizations even at lower grade pay scales. He mentioned that the infrastructure of SPMR College of Commerce, GGM Science College the conditions is totally worst and many things not available. He further said that the SPMR college many teachers transferees and process is continue no one of stop due to this the students of colleges are suffering. He further said that the Higher Education Minister many time assured the state government is in the process of consolidation of infrastructure of Colleges and various steps have been taken to improve the functioning of newly set up Colleges and also full-filled the posts of vacant lectures for various streams under fast track basis. He also said that the state the government of India has sanctioned Rs 40 crore as a special Central assistance for infrastructural up gradation of various Degree Colleges and other things. He said that to readdress the problem of sufferings the students. But the money is used in paper work reality is nothing. This is just a tip of an ice berg but there are many institutions which have been totally neglected. |
Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 6: The State Health Ministry' claims regarding increase in PG seats in broad specialties have fallen flat as Medical Council of India has granted only 13 more PG seats to the Government Medical College Jammu, while GMC Srinagar has got 30, thanks for not conducting Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) of faculty members. It is penitent to mentioned, Minister for Health Bali Bhagat assured Upper House that the Principal Secretary H&ME Department handed over the proposal for increase of 133 PG seats in GMC, Srinagar and 107 PG seats in GMC, Jammu, as one time increase in Medical Colleges of State for the year 2018-19. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, through its communication dated March 6, 2018, has conveyed its approval for admitting 15 students in GMC Jammu and 29 for Srinagar for 2018-19.
