Artificial lake on Tawi a reality soon

JAMMU, April 1: After many delay of artificial lake project, finally it will be going to start soon, the project design has been approved and Pakistan government also lifted their objection on the construction of artificial lake, which was planned to build on river Tawi in Jammu.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi has approved the design of artificial lake to be constructing in Jammu, few years before.

But when the expert team of Pakistan also inspected project of artificial lake and they had raised some objections on the project, due to which the concern authorities has to stop the work in between. After the delay of many months, the project is going to start soon.

According to official source said that the project will take time to complete but after completion of the project it will be benefited for the tourism department as well as state government. As this attracts lots of number of tourist from outside the state to visit in winter capital of the state.

He also said that the design and other necessary documents were submitted to the Central Water Commission about six months back till date the proposal is not passed by the concern authorities, due to which the project delay day by day.

When contacted Minister for Irrigation and Flood Control, Taj Mohi-ud-Din said that the Pakistan expert team has lifted their objections on artificial lake on River of Tawi, which they had raised before.

He further said that the design of project approved and has reached our department and we are going to start the work soon.
