Ahead of R-day, Jammu turned into police cantonment

JAMMU, Jan 22: With just few days remaining for Republic day, security has been beefed up in Jammu city. Additional policemen have been deployed at sensitive spots to maintain strict vigil.

The police was seen frisking pedestrians and checking vehicles at several places at several special nakas laid in the city.

The security men, it seems are worried over BJP youth wing, Yuva Morcha's plans of hoisting the tricolor at Lal Chowk.

According to official source, BSF jawans searched the border areas for possible infiltrators. The BSF officials not taking any chances, the Border Security Force (BSF) has brought in additional forces to help conduct searches.

He also said that recently BSF persons killed an infiltrator on the International Border (IB) in Pargwal area of Akhnoor. The many infiltrators are waiting for cross the international border and to disturb the peaces of Jammu and Kashmir on the Republic Day, officials said.”
He further added that it is not just the borders; checkpoints have been put up on all roads leading to Jammu city. He added that there is specific intelligence inputs of a militant get threaten on Republic Day.

It is patient to mention here that already sensitive situation prevailing in the Jammu and Kashmir on that BJP wing also will going there for hoisting the tricolor at Lal Chowk.

Source said specific information that the militants may create trouble on the occasion of Republic Day. The Security has been tightened around MAM Stadium and other parts of the city.

Doctors' "negligence" claims 2 lives
