After four years of wait, sons say political pressure behind to save the murderers

Nitesh Sangral

JAMMU, Dec 22: Its four years since the infamous Rajinder Bhushan Chopra and his wife and daughter were brutally murdered, but so far it is a mystery who killed the family.

Though police had given different versions and said that they have arrested the main culprit, Sangram Singh but two surviving sons of the Chopras allege that political pressure is being exerted over the case to save some people involved in planning the murder.

Despite tall claims as made by the police department to solve this much awaited case they are still unable to solve it.

Sources revealed that it must be due to the political pressure made by the
politicians who are not ready to see the business of Chopra to flourish much, which is said to be main reason for the killing.

While talking to TNI, Chopra sons Puneet and Rohit Chopra said that from
four years the case has been delayed and now they want justice. They also
demanded to immediately solve the case and who were involved should get the punishment.

They further said that they are not demanding to give the case of Central
Bureau of Investigation (CBI) or any other investigation team but wanted the
case to be solved as soon as possible.

It is pertinent to mention here that police had arrested 9 people of Pradhi
group headed by Sangram Singh. After much time the police authorities are
unable to get any results out of that which annoys the relatives of Chopra
who are seeking justice from the state government.

Special Investigation Team (SIT) was constituted in 2006 by the state government for this case. They investigated the case and searched various places in which they arrested eight accused. One of them was made approver
and on his statement kingpin of the Pradhi gang Sangram Singh and his associate Kiran Pradhi were declared absconders.

According the high level source, in the Chopra murder case some prominent persons are involved and they are using their political reach to scuttle the
investigation. During reinvestigation of the case many prominent persons
related to the case are founded to be underground.

He further said that the case is going too long. He said the political pressure is on the police department which is resisting them to find any results. The police authorities are not deeply investigating the murder case.
