Paramedical staff of GMC, associated hospitals without salaries since May

Jammu, July 4: Some employees of paramedical staff of Government Medical College (GMC) and Hospital and its associated hospitals have not received salaries for the last two months.
Sources told Early Times that half of the paramedical staff did not get salary from May this year, while some of their colleagues in are drawing their salaries regularly. "Some of the staff members hailing from far-flung areas and living in the city as tenants are the worst hit. They have to borrow money to pay the monthly rent," a source said. A staff member, seeking anonymity, said the staff had sent several reminders to the Medical Superintendent concerned but in vain.
"We were appointed through Medical Education department in the hospital, but we have been left in the lurch while our colleagues in the hospitals are drawing their salaries every month," she added.
The aggrieved staff members alleged that the authorities delayed their salaries unnecessarily. When contacted, Principal of GMC hospital Jammu, Dr. Ghanshyam Dev Gupta said the matter would be resolved within days as funds were just released by the authorities and the staff would be get salaries.

Drama in GMC; ex-Principal refuses to leave chair for successor

Dr Gillani, heal thyself 3/16/2017 Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 16: A high voltage drama was witnessed in the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu on Thursday when former the Principal refused to leave the chair for his successor. The government on Tuesday issued an order removing GMC Principal, Dr. Zahid Gillani, and appointed Dr. Sunanda Raina as the new Principal. One more case of GMCH doctors' alleged negligence came to the fore when the report of Dr Bhupinder Singh, a pediatrician tested negative for H1N1. He had died of respiratory problems last Thursday.
