X-ray machine lying defunct at GMCH, patient care hit

6/22/2015   Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report  Jammu, June 22: Patients visiting Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu, have to face a lot of inconvenience as X-ray machine of the emergency ward has gone defunct, allegedly due to negligence of the staff concerned. One of the two X-ray machines in the emergency ward went out of order nearly a week ago, sources told Early Times, adding that the patient load has increased manifold on the other machine. In the absence of X-ray machine, most of the patients have no option but to get their X-ray done at private diagnostic centres. But those who cannot afford to visit private clinics have to wait. "The machine is lying defunct and neither administration of GMCH Jammu has taken any step to repair nor replaced it," said the sources. Owing to lackadaisical approached of the department, hundreds of patients, who are suffering from Haemophilia, have been left on god mercy as non-availability of the factor as well as diagnose facility in Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu. On being asked, all samples had been found sub-standard expect Jammu district's samples, Minister replied that, "I have doubt on the working of Jammu laboratory and it might be in nexus with the companies who are supplying nutrition items in state Anganwadis," he alleged and said the department would take samples from different companies before tendering and it will be sent to laboratories outside the state for quality check. 13 out of 67 absentee doctors resume duties

54 doctors recommended for termination 6/7/2015   Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report Jammu, June 7: Anticipating strong action from the Jammu and Kashmir Health Department, 13 out 67 absentee doctors from Jammu division have reportedly rejoined their services and while 54 absentee doctors have been recommended for termination form the service. Reliable Sources in Health department informed Early Times that the Health Department had served repeated notices to 300 doctors, who were absent from their duties and mostly specialists and super specialists, from the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir, the Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar and SKIMS Soura have been working outside the state or abroad. Sources also stated that though 13 out of 67 doctors from Jammu province have rejoined their services, most of the doctors are unwilling to come back. Meritorious Gool candidate loses ReT job to favourities twice

6/6/2015   Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report   Jammu, June 5: Throwing all norms to winds, a blue-eyed candidate was reportedly adjusted on the post of Rehbar-e-Talim teacher at Gool government schools by the officials of Jammu and Kashmir Education department, depriving the meritorious candidate from the job, twice. The documents with Early Times disclosed that in 2010, the education department advertised posts of ReT teachers for Upgrade Girl Public School (UGPS) Dhedha, which falls under education zone Gool. "Ten candidates applied for the posts of ReT and the selection list was submitted to ZEO Gool prepared by selection panel (CEO/R/10/2016-69 dated 2/1/2010). Amid power crisis, 200 illegal ACs run in GMC hostels

Administration of hospital failed to end the anarchy in Under Graduate and Post Graduate Hostels of GMC hospital Jammu exposed the tall claims made by the authorities of hospital. Moreover, more than 200 Air Conditioner have been running at both hostels for last many years.
