Docs hail CM visit at GMC&H, seek intervention to rescue sinking ship

Premier hospital turns politics hub, scarcity of docs, drugs, equipments, Health Ministry unmoved

JAMMU: Instead of providing basic medical facilities to the poor patients of the Jammu province, the docs and administration of the premier hospital Government Medical College and Hospital are paying politics on the tiny issues and leaving no stone unturned to demoralize headworkers, doctor alleged and they also hailed Chief Minister’s visit in the hospital and sought CM intervention to rescue sinking ship.

Appreciating the visit of the CM in the hospital (sinking ship), the some doctors are believed that only Chief Minister could save the sinking ship as the Health Ministry has completely failed to redressal the small and big issues of the GMC&H Jammu. Owing to which, the poor patients are subjected to deny proper care and treatment as shortage of doctors, equipments and drugs.

“There are huge problems which were never taken up by the successive governments as well as health Ministry viz the matter of doctors and patients ration was never redressal, never fix the responsibilities of Civil and Mechanical wings of the GMC&H, shortage of the equipments in the premier hospital and staff which is catering the rush of ten districts,” doctors stated.

Moreover, they also said that the basic drugs were not available in the hospitals for last many months and repeated reminders were made to Health Ministry and Jammu and Kashmir Medical Supplies Cooperation Limited (JKMSCL) to provide the basic drug to the hospital but nothings has been received expect assurances. “Due to unavailability of drugs and others, the treating doctors are being subjected to face the anger of poor patients.”

“The GMC&H Jammu has been termed politics hub where doctors were playing politics over the various tiny issue by leaving their work. Doctors' "negligence" claims 2 lives
