Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 4: Despite spending a hefty sum from the
state exchequer over the construction of Principal's official residence of
Indira Gandhi Government Dental College (IGGDC) Jammu, the structure remains
unused to this day.
Official Sources told Early Times that the Official
residence of Principal IGGDC Jammu was constructed by State Government and
interestingly one or two Principals stayed in the building.
The building has remained mostly unused. "Most of
the glass doors are broken and dense grass inside and around the building has
grown," they said.
They added that most of the faculty members want to
convert it into a guest room or faculty house as there is no such facility
available with IGGDC Jammu since it is established.
"In the absence of
Guest House for IGGDC Jammu, the college bears all expensis of the visiting
faculty and examiners and it involves a lot of money as hotels are not that
cheap," a faculty member preferring anonymity said.
He said if the unused building is converted into a
guest house, it will save a lot of money.
