This disparity, said the medicos is not only taking toll of work but also the mindset of aspiring post graduates who prefer to work at SKIMS. It also becomes a deciding factor when students apply for MD/MS. It may be recalled that medical students at GMC Jammu and GMC Srinagar have agitated the issue repeatedly. However, the disparity continues with the authorities in no mood to address the issue. According to Medical Council of India's (MCI) clause 13.3 that the Post Graduate students of the institutions which are located in various States / Union Territories shall be paid remuneration at par with the remuneration being paid to the Post Graduate s...

SSH Jammu 'seriously ill,' BJP in 'comma'

9/21/2016 Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 21: The BJP came to power in the state by projecting itself as well wisher of people of Jammu, but it's fast exposing itself as yet another power-hungry party that only believes in hoodwinking people for votes. Take the example of Super Speciality Hospital (SSH) Jammu. For the past one week, the hospital stands paralysed and patients have been left at God's mercy. However, not a single BJP minister or MLA has bothered to know the condition of patients. Penitently, the incumbent Minister for Health and Medical Education Department claimed at a public gathering recently that his focus was to bring the health sector back on track. He however maintains a meaningful silence on the situation prevailing in SSH Jammu. A senior doctor of the hospital told Early Times that few officials of the Health and Medical Education Department were hand-in-glove with some private hospitals. To boost their business, the...
