Docs-pharmacies mafia exposed; drugs worth Rs 1 cr seized outside SSH Jammu

4/20/2016 Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report  Jammu, Apr 20: The unholy nexus between some doctors and private pharmacies was exposed on Wednesday when the police seized three vehicles carrying drugs worth Rs 1 crore outside the Super Specialty Hospital Jammu.  Reliable sources told Early Times that police also arrested four persons outside the hospital who were selling drugs openly at choicest rates. "Private pharmacies are openly roaming in the hospital and selling their drugs with the help of some doctors. This contradicts the claims of the department concerned about maintaining a vigil on the illegal activities," sources said. Committee submits ambiguous report 4/18/2016 Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report   Jammu, Apr 18: The cases of reaction to several patients after administration of fluid in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu have created panic, as more cases were reported on Monday and the enquiry committee, constituted to probe the case, has virtually failed to find the exact reasons. Four more cases of reaction surfaced in GMC&H when patients undergoing treatment were administrated fluid. Astonishingly, four days back similar case was reported in the hospital and Minister concerned had ordered an enquiry. Patients' condition deteriorates at GMCH after getting saline drip

  4/15/2016 Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report   Jammu, Apr 14: The health of more than six patients undergoing treatment at GMCH here deteriorated after the saline they were administrated reacted. It is the duty of J&K Medical Supplies Corporation to procure dextrose saline. In this case, it seems as if it has not tested the saline bottles before supplying them to the hospital. Sources said after six patients, who were given dextrose saline drip at GMCH, complained of uneasiness, panic gripped the other wards too. The saline bottles were later replaced by the hospital administration, the sources added. GMCH Medical Superintendent, Dr Ravinder Rattan Pal confirmed that the fluid caused reaction to some patients who were stable now. "We have replaced the fluid bottles with other bottles," he stated.
