H&ME Deptt forgets selected Jammu consultants

100 docs await posting orders 1/22/2016 Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report   Jammu, Jan 21: Despite their selection by Public Service Commission, more than 100 consultants from Jammu region are waiting for posting for past one month. In Kashmir province, on the other hand, the consultants who were selected have already joined their respective places of posting. Sources in Health and Medical Education (H&ME) Department told Early Times that in 2014, nearly 260 posts for Pathology, Orthopaedic, Surgery, Peadiatrics, Ophthalmology, Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Medicine, Gynaecology and others were referred to Public Service Commission (PSC) to overcome the shortage of doctors in the government run hospital as well as to streamline the Healthcare facilities in the state. 'Influential' cops posted at Civil Secretariat for years

1/19/2016 Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report    Jammu, Jan 18: The prolonged posting of some influential security personnel of Armed Police of Jammu and Kashmir at the Civil Secretariat allegedly for the last 10-15 years courtesy political backing has not only raised question over the said postings but also is mocking at the transfer policy within police department. Moreover, it is alleged that these officials are also running an alleged transfer industry within various departments at their own and have earned hefty amount from the employees of the different departments. Hospitals without drugs, surgical items 1/13/2016 Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report  Jammu, Jan 13: Jammu Kashmir Medical Supplies Corporation (JKMSC) has failed to fulfill its commitment that the all drugs, surgical items and others would be delivered in January this years and it seems the drugs would not be delivered before March owing to lackadaisical approach of the department. However, all government hospitals were directed to not purchase any types of drugs and others after December 31st 2015 by Jammu and Kashmir Health and Medical Education (H&ME) Department owing to which, all government hospitals in the state are facing hardship as do not have enough stock of drugs to treat to patients. One year later, Swine Flu (H1N1) testing lab caught in tendering mess

 1/6/2016 Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report   JAMMU, Jan 5: A years after outbreak of deadly swine flu in Jammu and Kashmir, government has failed to procure a laboratory for testing Swine Flu (H1N1) due to tendering intricacies. It seems the Jammu and Kashmir Health and Medical Education (H&ME) Department has learnt no lesson from deaths of those whose test reports were received from outstation labs after their deaths. Last year, two patients lost their lives as their test reports which were sent to labs outside the state arrived late; but minister concerned who make tall claims seems to have learnt no lessons as even after the lapse of a year, the crucial diagnostic facilities have not been established.
