GMC Principal 'proves herself incompetent before HC

' Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report Jammu, May 28: It appears that the Principal of Government Medical College and Hospital Jammu is projecting herself incapable of heading this institute before the House Committee which met few days ago. Credible sources told Early Times that a Joint House Committee on Medical Negligence (JHCMN) headed by its chairman Ghulam Nabi Monga and members GM Saroori, Naresh Kumar Gupta, Ali Mohammed Dar, Firdous Ahmed Tak and Ramesh Arora and others visited GMC, SMGS Hospital, and Government Gandhi Nagar Hospital and took stock of patient care and related facilities at these health institutions. When the issues related to water facilities, filthy toilets, delay in drug supply, etc, were taken up during the meeting, the Principal not only failed to give satisfactory reply but also failed to suggest ways to improve the things, said the sources. DHS Jammu promotes favouritism brazenly

Doc posted on fictional post at UHC Sidhra 5/19/2018 12:06:39 AM Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report Jammu, May 18: It appears that Directorate of Health Services (DHS) Jammu has become a hub of nepotism and favoritism. For example, an influential doctor has been posted, for the last five years, at Urban Health Centre Sidhra against a post which doesn't exist. "Dr Jameela Akhtar was posted at UHC Roop Nagar in 2011. She remained posted at Roop Nagar till 2014. After that she managed to get herself posted at UHC Sidhra which is near her home," sources told Early Times. They said this example of brazen favouritism in the DHS Jammu mocks at the claims of the government of bringing transparency in the system. There was only one post of National Health Mission and no other post of the doctor at the UHC Sidhra. Despite fully aware of the fact that there was no post of a doctor, the DHS Jammu has been offering the undue favour to Dr Jameela for last many years....

5/15/2018 Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report JAMMU, May 14: The oxygen plant at Chest and Diseases hospital Jammu is defunct even as more than Rs 13 lakh has been spent on it in the last two years. In the absence of an oxygen plant, the hospital has to bear the cost of 600 to 700 large oxygen cylinders which are supplied by private firms. Besides, 300 to 400 portable (small) cylinders are also purchased by the administration. "The old oxygen concentration plant of 446 LPM capacity had been shifted from GMC&H Jammu to CD hospital and the same was made operational on May 1, 2015, after its complete overhaul," sources told Early Times, quoting official records.
