Failure of Corporation leaves Hospitals across J&K bereft of basic medicines

2/28/2016 11:40:43 PM Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report   Jammu, Feb 28: Jammu and Kashmir Medical Supplies Corporation (JKMSC) has failed to meet the deadline for procurement of necessary drugs in government hospitals, leaving hospitals across the state without mandatory drugs and suffering patients in deep hole. Pertinently, it is second time when the Corporation has failed to deliver essential medicines to government hospitals across State due to which poor patients are being forced to purchase basic medicine, injections and life saving drugs from the markets. However, Managing Director of JKMSC, Dr Yashpal Sharma said due to strike in Haryana State, the samples of drugs have been delayed. Consultants from Jammu waiting for posting 2/25/2016 12:12:57 AM Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report   Jammu, Feb 24: Nearly 80 consultants from Jammu, who were selected by Public Service Commission in 2015, are running pillar to post for their posting as the Jammu and Kashmir Health and Medical Education Department has adopted dual yardstick for two region of the State. Pertinently, in 2015 the interviews of 220 consultants post for the Pathology, Orthopaedic, Surgery, Paediatrics, Ophthalmology, Ear, Nose and Throat (ENT), Medicine, Gynaecology and others were conducted across the State through Public Service Commission (PSC) and expected 80 consultants, rest joined their respective places of posting as order of posting issued by State . SSA teachers work sans facilities

2/23/2016  Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report   Jammu, Feb 23: The seasonal teachers, under Sarva Shikhsha Abhiyan (SSA), are teaching to students of Gujjar and Bakerwal families, who are enrolled under centrally sponsored scheme SSA, in open without basic facilities as well as under threat of as wild animals used to roam. Moreover, despite the meeting of concerned authority about enchantment in their salary, these teachers, who are engaged on seasonal basis are yet to receive a hike in their monthly remuneration of Rs 4000 for last 10 to 11 years. Dental hospital misses yet another deadline

2/22/2016 Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report  Jammu, Feb 21: Known for its failure to complete projects in time, Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC) is likely to miss yet another deadline for the completion of Indira Gandhi Government Dental Hospital (IGGDH) building at Ambphalla. Scheduled to be completed in the year 2014, it is for the third time that the executing agency has sought extension to complete project. The construction work on the project was started in 2010 and project was to be completed at an estimated cost of Rs 31.60 crore. However, irked by the lackadaisical approach of executing agency, in 2015 then Chief Minister late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed had pulled up executing agency and directed them not to miss deadlines in the completion of the projects. Uncertainty over medical seats hovers around GMC Jammu ahead of MCI visit

Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report jammu, Feb 17: Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu has failed to overcome the deficiencies pointed out by Medical Council of India (MCI) few months back to avoid losing MBBS seats resulting into clouds of uncertainty hovering over the seat strength of the said college. According to officials of the GMC Jammu, the concerned ministry seems to be in no mood to protect the 50 MBBS seats for which the then authorities have been asked to enhance the basic infrastructure. They however, added that the fate of 50 seats for MBBS seats of GMC Jammu will be decided after the inspection of the team from Medical Council of India (MCI).
