Docs support suspended registrar, seeks GMC principal's scalp

5/26/2015 Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report Jammu, May 25: Terming the suspension of Dr Sushil Pandita as unjustified and illegal doctors on Monday demanded Dr Pandita, who was suspended on the charges of negligence last week by the hospital administration, be reinstated forthwith. Resident Doctors Association GMC Jammu and Associated Hospitals along with Medical Teachers Association GMC Jammu and Paramedical Staff Union suspended routine ward work, OPDs and Operation Theatres against the "unethical and illegal" suspension of the doctor. President RDA Dr Neeraj Sharma warned that they would not resume the routine work till the incumbent Principal is removed and enquiry is initiated against him for "illegal suspensions" and procurement of "substandard intravenous fluids and drip sets." Abandoned patient lying 'untreated' at GMC hospital for last 4 days

5/16/2015 Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report   Jammu, May 16: An unconscious unattended man is awaiting treatment at GMC hospital for the past four days. The indifference of the doctors and the hospital administration reflects their insensitivity.  Senior doctor of GMC hospital preferring anonymity informed Early Times that the patient was admitted to the emergency ward of the hospital three days ago by locals. On the first day, he was attended by doctors like any other patient in the hospital. But when it became increasingly clear no one was with him, the hospital authorities allegedly abandoned him. Significantly, it is not the first instance of such gross negligence on the part of the hospital authorities. Moreover, the donors at blood bank of SMGS hospital get refreshment occasionally which reflects the indiference of the authorities towards the donors. Sources informed Early Times that nearly 19 to 20 thousand blood points are collected annually even as the bank lacks basic facilities for staff and donors. CUJ administration on Friday organized the prize distribution function, in which winners of Annual Sports meet and Uddan festival, held nearly two months ago, were given prizes by Vice Chancellor.
