Nitesh Sangral    Jammu: The administration of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu have funds and time to organizes functions in the hospital for themselves but interestingly no initiative was taken to observe World Hepatitis Day in Jammu province to make people aware about a serious public health hazard. Latest assessment by World Health Organization (WHO) shows that in India, 52 million people are chronically infected with Hepatitis, 40 million people are infected with Hepatitis B and 6 to 12 million people are chronically infected with Hepatitis C. Besides, Hepatitis E virus (HEV) is the most important cause of epidemic Hepatitis, whereas Hepatitis A virus (HAV) is more common among children. Watchdog turns violator! 7/26/2016 Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report  Jammu, July 26: The Jammu and Kashmir Medical Supplies Corporation (JKMSC) Ltd is meant to stop back door purchase within Jammu and Kashmir Health and Medical Education department but it seems that JKMSC is also following 'old tradition' by purchasing items for Indira Gandhi Government Dental College (IGGDC) Jammu without tendering reportedly. Reliable sources told Early Times that the officials of JKMSC have purchased 80 chairs, which are to be installed in new building of Indira Gandhi Government Dental College Jammu, in which 20 chairs full load (worth of a chair more than 4 lakh) and 60 others are on reference rate contract of Disaster Management but without following codal formalities. NS fluid out of stock, patients forced to buy from markets 7/7/2016 Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report   Jammu, July 7: The Health Department claims they are strictly focusing on providing free basic drugs and other medical facilities to the patients, but the patients in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu have been forced to buy even NS fluid from open markets. Moreover, without any their fault, doctors on duty have been facing a lot of problems and are accused by patients and their attendants for not providing fluids for last two days. Sources within GMCH told Early Times that the patients, who are admitted in the different wards of the hospital even emergency ward, have forced to purchase the glucose from open market at high rates especially during emergency cases.
