GMC&H moots evening clinics again; Doctors threaten to quit

5/11/2016 Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report   Jammu, May 10: The decision of Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu to start evening clinics is likely to meet the same fate again because of the reluctance of most doctors against the initiative. Doctors of the GMC&H have been opposing the idea of evening clinics ever since the idea was mooted a couple of years ago to check and monitor the private practice by government doctors, which was banned by the state high court and also make the services of these doctors available to the Patients after the normal working hours. In a meeting held at the GMC&H on Tuesday, many doctors even threatened to quit their job if they were impelled to attend evening clinics. ET Impact 5/8/2016 Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report   Jammu, May 7: Acting on an Early Times report regarding Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu administration had changed timings allegedly to facilitate blue eyed, administration of GMC&H Jammu has issued circular to change office timings from 8 AM to 2 PM. Fixes its own time table to facilitate blue eyed 5/4/2016 Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report  Jammu, May 4: Trashing the circular of the State Government notifying summer timings in all Government offices/institutions from May 1, the Government Medical College administration has notified its own timings allegedly to facilitate some blue eyed. However, officials of the hospital claims that keeping in view of patient care especially for those who visit far-flung areas, the timings has been changed of the hospital and its associated hospital so better health services would be provide to them. Cases of reaction due to IV fluid Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report     Jammu, May 1: Despite panic caused by the increasing cases of reaction to patients while administrating IV fluid, the administration of the GMC hospital is trying to sweep the matter under the carpet and many believe that several meetings in this regard were mere eye wash. Sources at GMC&H Jammu told Early Times that within 10 days atleast three times the fluid, which is procured by Jammu and Kashmir Medical Supplies Corporation (JKMSC) Ltd., had reacted to the patients admitted in the different wards causing panic.
