GMCH docs ‘refuse to operate’ accident victim

12/23/2015 Early Times Report   Jammu, Dec 23: The doctors at Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu have allegedly refused to operate a patient who was critically injured in a road accident and was shifted to GMCH from Sub District Hospital (SDH) Bishnah for specialized treatment. Narrating their woeful plight with ‘Early Times’, the family members of the patient who had a fractured leg alleged that due to an unholy nexus between the chemist shops and doctors, they are denied treatment/operation as in haste they brought surgical items randomly but not from a particular medical shop specified by the doctors. Ayurvedic Hospital turns into parking lot

12/21/2015 Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report  Jammu, Dec 21: Already facing neglect and apathy of government, Ayurvedic Hospital Jammu has now turned into parking lot for the neighbouring shops owners and others, courtesy apathetical attitude of the Hospital administration. Officials of the hospital informed that unauthorized parking of vehicles in front of hospital's gate was causing inconvenience to patients and their attendants, but the administration of the hospital has not shown any concern to regulate the traffic at entry and exit points. Moreover, employees of the Director Health Services (DHS) Jammu also seen parked their vehicle in the premises, further aggravating the problem. Female patients uncomfortable with male ECG technicians in GMCH

12/19/2015 Nitesh Sangral Early Times Report     Jammu, Dec 19: Many female patients are uncomfortable with the male technicians who perform ECG and other tests. Since the start of this diagnostic facility only male technicians of Government Medical College (GMC) and Hospital Jammu have been deputed to conduct Electro-cardio-gram (ECG) tests be it male or the female which often put the male technicians cornered while dealing some old aged female patients. Due to lack of female technicians in this unit of radio diagnostic department, the female patients are subjected to discomfort and the authorities have never bothered to address the issue. The female patients for last many years are feeling it but they can't help it due to root cause i.e. shortage of Female Technicians. Frustrated to the core, these workers are mulling to shun their works, which may completely jeopardize patient care in this premier health care institution.
